MSU Orlando and Epic Aviation Sign a Memorandum of Understanding - 2/27/2009

ORLANDO, Fla. - Mountain State University Orlando and Epic Aviation have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand educational opportunities for Epic Aviation students.
This agreement allows Epic Aviation students an opportunity to continue their education at MSU Orlando by further developing communications skills. ESL (English as a Second Language) courses will be available to incoming Epic Aviation students.

MSU Orlando Executive Director Randall White applauded the agreement, saying, “MSU Orlando is delighted to expand the educational opportunities offered by Epic Aviation. Our Orlando campus is proud that approximately 20 percent of our local enrollment is made up of international students. We believe in developing leaders who can succeed in our local workplace as well as in the global economy. Communication is a key factor in that role, and by offering ESL courses to Epic Aviation students we join them in a combined effort to diversify our region’s organizations, while encouraging lifelong learning.”

Epic Aviation President Danny Perna said, “We are very excited about the partnership with Mountain State University and Epic Aviation. We live and work in a global aviation environment and our affiliation with MSU allows Epic to offer additional benefits and services beyond our already successful international flight training programs. Our graduates will now have the ability to continue their aviation development by working in the field as certified flight instructors while perfecting not only the necessary language skills but flight techniques as well.”

“New and existing students enrolled in an Epic flight curriculum who may be experiencing challenges with English will also benefit from MSU’s language skills programs. Together MSU and Epic will help bridge the gap between the commercial pilot and a qualified airline candidate,” said Perna.

White added, “Like our courses in leadership and nursing, our ESL classes are both accessible and affordable, so students can meet prior commitments while earning credits from an accredited university.”
